Foot care treatments provided by a regulated healthcare professional is considered a medical treatment, not a cosmetic service. At Step Left Advanced Foot Care Services, each appointment includes a comprehensive assessment of your feet, professional nail and skin care, and the development of customized care plans designed to support your individual health needs and risk factors.

Care is provided using medical-grade equipment and steam-sterilized instruments, following Alberta Best Practice Guidelines and IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) standards to ensure the highest level of safety and infection prevention. Our goal is to help clients maintain comfort, mobility, and overall health through preventative, professional nursing foot care.

Advanced Foot Care Treatment

Advanced foot care treatments are specialized nursing services focused on maintaining foot health; preventing complications; and supporting mobility. These treatments include professional nail trimming and reduction; care for thick, fungal or difficult nails, management of calluses and corns, and monitoring the feet for early signs of pressure, wounds, infection, or other concerns. Advanced foot care is particularly important for individuals living with diabetes, circulation concerns, reduced mobility, or other health conditions that increase risk. Regular treatments help keep feet comfortable, identify problems early, and support overall health and independence.

Onyfix Nail Correction Band

Onyfix® Toenail Correction Bands are a gentle, non-invasive treatment used to help correct involuted or ingrown toenails. A specialized composite material is applied to the surface of the nail to create a flexible band that gradually guides the nail into a more natural shape as it grows. Unlike traditional nail braces, Onyfix works without pulling, tension, or discomfort, making it a comfortable option for many clients, including those with sensitive or high-risk feet. The treatment allows the nail to grow forward properly while reducing pressure on the surrounding skin, helping to relieve pain and prevent recurring ingrown nails. The band remains on the nail as it grows out and can be adjusted during follow-up visits as part of an ongoing care plan.

ToeFX

ToeFX® Nail Restoration is a specialized treatment used to improve the appearance of damaged, fungal, or discoloured toenails while supporting healthy nail growth. A medical-grade resin is carefully applied to the nail to create a breathable, flexible coating that allows the nail to look natural while it grows out. Unlike traditional nail polish or cosmetic coverings, ToeFX is designed specifically for toenails and helps protect the nail plate while allowing moisture to escape, creating an environment that is less supportive of fungal growth. This treatment is often used for nails that are discoloured, brittle, or partially damaged, helping restore a more natural appearance while ongoing foot care supports long-term nail health.

Custom Silicone toe Prop

A custom silicone orthosis is a soft, medical-grade device that is molded directly to the shape of an individual’s toes or foot to provide protection, support, and improved alignment. During treatment, the Foot Care Nurse applies and shapes a specialized silicone material to create a personalized orthotic that fits comfortably and addresses the client’s specific needs. Custom silicone orthoses are often used to reduce pressure, separate toes, cushion sensitive areas, and decrease friction caused by footwear. They can help manage concerns such as corns, calluses, overlapping toes, and areas of irritation, while improving comfort and helping to prevent further skin breakdown.
