Step Left Advanced Foot Care Services was created from my passion for nursing, my love of helping people, and my belief that proper foot care can change lives.

 

Over the years, I have seen how quickly small foot problems can become serious concerns, especially for seniors, people living with diabetes, and those with limited mobility or circulation concerns.  I have also seen how much relief, confidence, and comfort care from someone who truly understands the importance of prevention.

As the Alberta Chair for the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses, I am also committed to strengthening the profession of nursing foot care across Alberta. This role has allowed me to support other foot care nurses, advocate for best practice standards, and bring attention to the gaps that exist in access to preventative foot care.

​

My advocacy has also led me to develop a government-facing proposal focused on improving access to routine nursing foot care in Alberta.  This proposal highlights the urgent need for preventative foot care funding, especially for high-risk Albertans who may otherwise face wounds, infections, loss of mobility, hospitalization, or amputations.  My belief is that investing in routine foot care is not only compassionate — it is practical, preventative, and cost-saving.

The name Step Left is personal to me. I am left-handed, and many of my clients quickly notice that little detail. But the name also represents something bigger: taking a different step, choosing a better way, and moving forward with care, purpose, and confidence. Step Left out of the chaos so you can move your right foot forward.

 

My work is built on education, infection control, advanced foot care training, and a deep respect for the people I serve. I believe clients deserve to feel heard, safe, and cared for.
